Overview

The Panametrics GM868 is a multi purpose gas flow meter. The GM868 flow meter is suitable for measuring the flow of most gases including fuel gases, waste gases, stack gases and others. It is a complete ultrasonic flow metering system. The GM868 uses transit time technology to determine flow rates. It can do the job of several conventional meters, due to its wide range of measurement velocities and pipe sizes. The GM868 can measure the flow in pipes ranging from 1 inch to 120 inches in diameter (2.5cm to 3m) and also velocities ranging from 0.1 to 150ft/s. These velocities can be measured in either direction and in steady or pulsating flow.

A two channel gas flow meter can also be chosen to provide maximum accuracy by measuring along two paths in the same channel. The dual channel instrument can also be used to either measure the flow in two separate pipes or even at two seperate points on the same pipe. This flow meter is made by one of the world's leading gas flow meter manufacturers: Panametrics.

The GM868 flow meter for gas is an extremely low maintenance flow meter as it has no moving parts to be worn out, and no parts to collect debris, this means that there is no need to clean, lubricate or do any other routine maintenance. There is also no pressure drop caused by the GM868's transducers, as they do not obstruct the flow, which is a common problem with other types of flow meters.

The GM868 flow meter offers either analogue and digital output options, which make it easy for the user to have the data sent to where it needs to be. There is also the choice of having alarm outputs. These outputs can all be set up and calibrated form the a computer using the Panaview software or from the keypad.

If the stock is permitting, and all paperwork is received by 12pm then flow meters can usually be available the next day.
The minimum hire period for flow meters is one week.
Once you have the meter you can rent it for as long as you need it. However, it would help if you can let us know that you wish to extend the rental period. Upon return the meter is off-hired and once checked and tested, an invoice will be issued to you. Also, if you extend your rental past a 4, 8 or 12 week rental threshold, then you are entitled to a discount.
You are only charged for the period of time for which you have the flowmeter. So, if a flowmeter is returned 3 days late you are only charged for 3 extra days, and each of these days is charged at one fifth of the weeks hire cost.
Normally, you will use your own courier but if you have any problems let us know and we can arrange a pick up the day after you notify us, but you will be charged for the carriage and this cost will be added to the invoice.
Without exception, all our flow meters are tested. If you need a 110v plug instead of the standard 230v plug let us know.
All of our standard transducers will do -40degC to +150degC, but this will depend on your application.
As long as the pipe is relatively clean, coatings or paint is usually not a problem for clamp on flow meters but if the pipe is corroded or the paintwork has bubbled then a quick sanding down with sandpaper or a wire brush is recommended.
An ultrasonic wall thickness gauge, that measures to within 0.05mm, is provided as standard with all flow meter rental packages.
After the equipment has been shipped, it is the responsibility of the hirer. However, in our experience it is rare that any of our flow meters are damaged. Our flow meters are tough, as well as accurate, and reliable.
