New Level Measurement and Water Quality Monitoring Instruments from In-Situ

The last few months has seen a wide variety of exciting new products released by In-Situ. The industry leading Level TROLL family of pressure level sensors has been extended, a new AquaTROLL conductivity and temperature sensor has been introduced, and the RDO Pro has taken dissolved oxygen monitoring to the next level. There is also the new Con TROLL Pro system for controlling and monitoring a wide range of In-Situ sensors.

Level TROLL 200

Level Troll 200, Pressure Level SensorThis is the latest addition to the industry leading Level TROLL family of pressure level sensors. It’s a non-vented (absolute) instrument that can monitor and record water level, temperature and pressure and is designed for long-term and short-term groundwater and surface water monitoring. It’s capable of logging in event, linear and fast linear modes  and has a corrosion and chemical resistant ABS housing that make it a great choice for applications in harsh environments including saltwater.

Instrument setup is very straightforward using the renowned Win-Situ 5 software and either a USB/RS232 docking station, or a TROLL Com 200 device. With many years of experience in the design and manufacture of remote sensors, In-Situ understand that extended battery life is often a vital feature. The LevelTROLL 200 has a 3.6V lithium battery giving a minimum battery life of 5 years (or 2 million readings)....read more

Con TROLL Pro

Con TROLL Pro, Display, Monitoring and Logging SystemDesigned for controlling and monitoring In-Situ’s RDO Pro, Level TROLL and Aqua TROLL devices, the Con TROLL Pro is a menu driven, micro-processor controlled system with measured value and temperature displays. It provides a solution that is powerful and easy to setup.

The Con TROLL Pro can be used to display and report multiple parameters to process controls, measure both barometric and ambient pressure, and access data via Bluetooth wireless technology. It also provides power for the sensors attached to it and the ability to reset factory defaults or calibrate them in-situ.
It has a rugged and durable NEMA 4X/IP67 enclosure for use in demanding environments, and can interface with a Rugged Reader handheld PC or laptop computer via Win Situ software.

There are 3 different models available:

AC
Designed for process control applications with line power that don’t require data logging. It is capable of triggering low and high voltage relays.

AC-L
Specifications are the same as the AC but with the added feature of data logging.

DC-L
Powered from a battery or solar panel, the DC-L is designed for use in remote applications. It has built in data logging as is capable of triggering low voltage relays.

Aqua TROLL 100

AquaTROLL 100 Rugged Conductivity and Temperature Sensor and LoggerThis is a rugged sensor designed for the monitoring and logging of conductivity and temperature in harsh environments. It’s 4 cell sensor system reduces the effects of fouling and is resistant to the effects of electrical fields produced by well casings and pumps.

The Aqua TROLL 100 has a completely sealed titanium housing that can withstand the harshest conditions, and pressures up to 500psi. It features the same 3.6V lithium battery as the Level TROLL 200 (above), giving an impressive 5 years of battery life (when reading every 15 minutes). An external battery, soar panel or external 8-36 VDC are also available as options.

The instrument has a narrow diameter of only 0.72in (1.83 cm) which makes it ideal for use in narrow wells and boreholes. SCADA and telemetry ready units have Modbus/RS485, SDI-12, and 4-20 mA output comms, and the Rugged Cable system also provides twist locks for quick and secure connections.....read more

RDO Pro

RDO Pro Dissolved OXYGEN DO SensorThis sensor is designed for monitoring dissolved oxygen in process applications. It requires only 8 to 36 VDC power, and external controllers and transmitters are not necessary. Calibration coefficients pre-loaded into the cap of the sensor provide quick and easy configuration. It’s inert construction will not corrode in high salinity environments.

The sensor measures the excitation signal and compares it to the “phase” (delay) of the returned signal, and is therefore based on the “lifetime” rather than the intensity of the luminescence. The photodiode detects the phase shift in the returned signal caused by the presence of oxygen in the foil quenching the luminescence. Do is finally quantified by measuring the phase difference between the returned red light and the blue excitation light.

The RDO Pro is insensitive to many of the common factors which can cause interference with dissolved oxygen measurement such as chlorine, chloride, hydrogen sulphide and ammonium. It comes complete with a 10m cable as standard and has 4-20 mA, Modbus RS485, and SDI-12 signal outputs.

The RDO Pro uses the principle of “dynamic luminescence quenching” to measures dissolved oxygen. The sensor utilises lifetime-based optical fluorescence technology which provides accuracy, stability and low-maintenance. It provides consistent reproducible results (<0.05 mg/L reproducibility) and gives a very fast response to changes in both oxygen and temperature.....read more
