The new 101D Water Level DrawDown meter features the same qualities as the previous 101 P7 Water Level meter, with the added benefit of a simple toggle to switch from static water to drawdown mode.
The drawdown function is used to monitor falling hydraulic head during low flow sampling, pumping or other aquifer and well tests. It also ensures the submersion of a pump’s intake during purging or well development. Water level mode allows accurate depth water measurement for a range of applications.
The 101D uses a stainless steel probe that is corrosion resistant, that connects to a precisely marked flat tape which come in lengths up to 5000ft, fitted to reel. It is powered by a standard 9 volt battery. The battery test button can check the circuits for both modes.
In water level mode, the electronic circuit is completed when the zero point of the probe enters the water, activating a light and buzzer. The depth is then read off the tape. In drawdown mode the circuit is reversed and the light and buzzer are activated when the probe is in the air. The sensitivity control allows the buzzer to be turned down in cascading water, ensuring clear signal in both high and low conductivity conditions.
