Calibration and Repairs Assistant

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic Calibration and Repairs Assistant to join our award-winning team at RS Hydro near Bromsgrove.

As a Calibration and Repairs Assistant, your day will be diverse and demanding. You will be immersed in tasks ranging from administrative support such as composing emails, handling phone calls, and creating meticulous reports, to maintaining product data with precision.

Your role extends to technical support: setting up and cleaning equipment, adjusting parameters, preparing items, and performing basic calibrations. You will ensure seamless operations by maintaining systems related to job workflows and promptly addressing client queries.

Tasks Required:

  • Work in and maintain systems regarding job workflow, ensuring key data is added to the system.
  • Monitor emails and ensure client queries are handled or delegated in a timely manner.
  • Answer calls for technical support and provide assistance with equipment operation.
  • Clean, fault-find, repair, and calibrate technical equipment.
  • Set equipment parameters and calibrations.
  • Prepare equipment for new or repaired goods.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace.
  • Handle various types of fluids and calibration materials using our COSHH control system.
  • Occasional site visits to assist with calibration may be required.

Hours of Work: Full-time, with flexibility depending on project requirements and workloads.

Technical Assistant Requirements:

  • Proficiency with basic computer programs including MS Office and database systems.
  • Good data processing skills.
  • Working knowledge of using computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical data.
  • Driving licence not mandatory but beneficial.
  • Experience working in a technical environment and using hand tools such as screwdrivers is ideal.
  • Attention to detail and comfort working with goods that may have been installed in messy environments.
  • Comfortable working in and maintaining computer systems and an office environment.
