Absolute pressure (water pressure + atmospheric pressure) is measured by the Levelogger Edge and is expressed in meters, centimeters, feet, psi, kPa or mBar. To obtain changes in water level accurately, atmospheric pressure fluctuations need to be compensated for using a Barologger Edge which avoids time lag in the compensation.
The Barologger is set above high water level in one location on site. A single Barologger can be used to compensate for atmospheric pressure for all Leveloggers in a 30 km (20 mile) radius and/or with every 300 m (1000 ft) change in elevation.
Compensated data files are automatically produced by the Levelogger Software Data Compensation Wizard using the synchronized data files from the Barologger and Leveloggers on site.
Pressure algorithms, based on air rather than water pressure, are used by the Barologger Edge providing superior accuracy. The recorded barometric information is also useful to determine barometric lag and/or barometric efficiency of the monitored aquifer.
Atmospheric pressure is recorded by the Barologger Edge in psi, kPa or mBar. When compensating data from the Levelogger Edge, Gold or Junior, Levelogger Software Version 4 can recognize the type of Levelogger and compensate using the same units found in the data file (Levelogger Gold and Junior measure in centimeters, meters or feet). This makes the Barologger Edge backwards compatible.

The free app is available on both Apple® and Android™ smart devices.
Apple devices must be running iOS 11 or later on the following compatible devices:
Android devices must be running version 5.0 or higher. Solinst does not guarantee compatibility on all devices running 5.0, but testing confirms the following can be used:
As the Levelogger App Interface will not connect directly to the top of a Solinst datalogger, it is necessary to have connection accessories. With the Levelogger or Rainlogger, one of the following accessories is required:
