ISCO LaserFlow goes from Strength to Strength
The Teledyne ISCO
LaserFlow™ is the only MCERTS (Class 2) open channel, non-contact, area velocity flow sensor on the market and is a revolution in open channel technology. The advantage of the LaserFlow™ is that it uses non-contact laser to penetrate the surface of the flow, reading multi-depth and multi-point velocities below the surface to give a true reflection of velocity and not just a surface veocity. This is all described in the article below, but in short it takes up to 2500 readings a second and gives a velocity measurement accuracy of 0.5% of reading ±0.03m/sec (Class 2 MCERTS).
As expected the LaserFlow™ is proving to be a transformation in the water industry and after conducting various trials with the EA and other water companies, it is now being adopted fully by our existing clients Anglian Water, Wessex Water, Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Veolia and Environment Agency.
- Click here to view an evaluation report of the LaserFlow™ based on a 40-day trial undertaken by the Environment Agency's national hydrometry team. In this report, the Environment Agency has assessed the accuracy of the flow data to determine the potential of using the LaserFlow™in the Environment Agency's hydrometric network.
