The Geolux RG200 and RG400 are high-precision tipping bucket rain gauges engineered to deliver reliable and accurate rainfall measurement over the long term, even in demanding environmental conditions.
A specially designed siphon system controls the flow of water to the tipping mechanism, ensuring exceptional measurement consistency across both light and heavy rainfall events. Unlike traditional rain gauge designs, the siphon is manufactured as a single-piece metal component using advanced 3D-printing technology. Its optimised internal hydraulic chambers enhance water flow regulation, resulting in superior measurement accuracy and repeatability.
For installations in cold climates or regions prone to snow and ice, the RG200 and RG400 can be fitted with optional heating systems ranging from 18 W to 100 W. An integrated power management system with a built-in voltage upconverter enables operation across a wide supply voltage range of 9 to 27 V, providing greater installation flexibility.
The tipping mechanism features dual reed switch outputs, allowing straightforward connection to two dataloggers or pulse-counting devices simultaneously. Water collected by the gauge is efficiently discharged through dual drainage outlets located at the base of the instrument, supporting reliable long-term operation with minimal maintenance.
