SITRANS LC 500 Capacitance Level Sensor (Discontinued)

  • 2-wire Capacitance Level Sensor
  • Ideal for liquids, solids, interface & foam detection
Product Options

The LC500 is a 2-wire loop-powered capacitance level sensor for level measurement of liquids, solids, interface and foam detection. The LC500 is made by Siemens, a leading worldwide manufacturer of capacitance probes.

  • 4-20mA loop-powered/signal
  • Push button calibration
  • HART protocol
  • High resolution

SITRANS LC 500 is a high-performance capacitance level sensor for continuous level and interface measurement in extreme and critical process conditions. Used in liquids, solids, interfaces, and foam, the SITRANS LC 500 performs accurately and reliably in extreme process conditions with temperatures from -200 to 400°C (-328 to 752°F) and pressures from full vacuum (FV) to over 525 bar (7665 psi).

SITRANS LC 500's advanced electronics provide one-step, push-button calibration, and local display for easy on-site installation and set-up. The unique mechanical probe design coupled with a high performance transmitter gives superior performance in toxic and aggressive chemicals, acids, caustics, adhesives, and in viscous conductive and non-conductive materials.

The smart 2-wire capacitance level sensor has HART? communications for remote commissioning and inspection. The SITRANS LC 500 capacitance probe achieves reliable, stable measurement performance over a wide range of application conditions including very hazardous environments.

  • Patented Active-Shield technology
  • Simple push-button calibration and integrated local display
  • Inverse-frequency approach provides high resolution
  • High temperature and pressure resistant
  • Full-function diagnostics comply with NAMUR NE-43
  • 'Levelwatch'? network friendly for Internet-based remote monitoring
