Overview

TIENet 350 Area Velocity Sensor / TIENet® 350 Ex area velocity sensor

The Teledyne Isco TIENet 350 Area Velocity Sensor measures flow stream average area velocity and liquid level.

The new, intrinsically safe TIENet® 350 Ex area velocity sensor, certified for both hazardous and non-hazardous location flow measurement in water and wastewater applications. The intrinsically safe TIENet 350 Ex sensor is certified for use in areas classified as Class I, Div1, Zone 0, Category 1G, Ex ia IIB T4 Ga. When used with a Teledyne ISCO Signature® barrier, the TIENet 350 Ex can also serve in hazardous areas as a standalone flow measurement sensor. The TIENet 350 Ex is compatible with all current sensor mountings found on Teledyne ISCO equipment.

The Signature® Flow Meter uses the information from the 350/350Ex to calculate the flow rate and total flow of the stream. To operate with the 350 sensor, the Signature requires software version 1.18 or later. The 350 sensor is mounted in the flow stream, normally at the bottom of the channel. It measures average velocity using continuous ultrasonic sound waves to produce a Doppler effect, in which the frequency of a wave (such as sound) passed between two bodies is relative to the motion of each. As they move nearer to each other, the frequency increases; as they move apart, the frequency decreases. The 350 sensor measures liquid level using an internal differential pressure transducer.

Signture Flow Meter

The new Isco Signature flow meter is designed for open channel flow monitoring applications. It supports flow measurement technologies including ultrasonic and bubbler. Flow can be calculated using standard open channel level-to-flow conversions, level to flow data points as well as user-defined equations, depending on the needs of the application. Unique features provided by the Signature flow meter help to verify data integrity. It logs key events such as power outages and changes in calibration to validate data accuracy. Stored data can be easily reviewed to detect any type of data alteration.
