The Model 3001 Barologger Gold Barometric Datalogger is designed for use with Solinst Leveloggers to provide the most accurate method of barometric pressure compensation.
As Leveloggers measure absolute pressure (water pressure + atmospheric pressure), the most accurate method of obtaining changes in water level is to compensate for atmospheric pressure fluctuations using a Solinst Barologger. Use of a barometric pressure datalogger eliminates errors caused by moisture build up, kinking or damage to vented cable and avoids any time lag in the compensation calculation. Superior accuracy is achieved by the Barologger Gold as it uses algorithms based on air rather than water pressure. To determine barometric lag and/or barometric efficiency of the monitored aquifer, the recorded barometric information can be very useful.
The barometric adjustment of water level measurements is greatly simplified with use of the Data Compensation Wizard found in the Levelogger software which uses the synchronised data from one on-site Barologger with all the Leveloggers. The overall results give more reliable, highly accurate level data than that obtained when using high maintenance and expensive vented cable. The Barologger Gold features a ‘Self-Test Diagnostic Utility’ which can be used if an unexpected problem occurs. It can check the pressure transducer, temperature sensor, functioning of the program, calibration, backup and logging memories, battery voltage, as well as enabling a complete Memory Dump if required.
